Slots available for CTELP Residencies for Fall 2009
Up to six Career Transitions Executive Leadership Program (CTELP) residents will be selected for fall 2009. Apply Now!
Applications are due:
- June 15 for fall 2009
Please note changes in the requirements as well: a minimum 3.25 GPA is required (instead of a 3.5).
CTELP requirements are as follows:
- Applicants are expected to have completed 18 or more MLS credits before participating in CTELP (Ideally, students should consider participating in CTELP for the final 9 credits of their MLS programs).
- A minimum 3.25 GPA in the MLS program is required.
- Applicants must have significant work experience, library experience, or an advanced degree (MA, MS, others).
- Applicants must provide evidence of previous community or professional service, and a statement clearly articulating their professional interests and goals, and demonstrating leadership aspirations within the profession.
CTELP residents participate in a one-semester, on-site library 'residency' (6 credits). The on-site library residency (14 weeks; 30 hours per week) involves residents in management-level operations and organizational decision making. Residents also complete high level projects or advance initiatives such as program planning and grant writing, depending on the individual resident's skills and interests. Simultaneously with the on-site residency, leadership residents participate in a one semester, three-credit leadership course, conducted online. During their participation in CTELP, residents earn $8,000 salary and insurance, nine graduate credits, and a $400 travel stipend for conference participation.
