SLIS-INDY LISTSERVS
In order to stay connected to important SLIS news and announcements, SLIS students are expected to subscribe to slis-indy and to obtain an IUPUI e-mail account.

The School of Library and Information Science - Indianapolis has established a LISTSERV mailing list to facilitate school-related communication about faculty, staff, and students. The primary purpose of the distribution list is to disseminate information about SLIS to the list subscribers. Announcements include information regarding class schedules, course registration, advising, notices about programs and professional meetings, SLIS committee work, notices of publications and professional activities, part time job opportunity for SLIS students, etc. University policy concerning electronic listserv requires that they be used for research or education activities and that the list owner constantly monitor the list's content to ensure that it is serving its intended purpose.
Subscription to SLIS-Indy is highly recommended for news from the SLIS Indianapolis program on schedule updates, jobs, course information and general information. Questions, contact Melanie Hollcraft meacole@iupui.edu
about slisstudents-l
This is a student-managed listserv concerning car pooling, textbooks, and other general information and concerns that might be discussed among students without SLIS faculty or administration. Subscription to SLISSTUDENTS-L is completely optional.
how to subscribe
1) Send an e-mail message to listserv@listserv.iupui.edu. Leave the subject line blank. In the body of your message type:
subscribe slis-indy
OR
subscribe slisstudent-l
Your request for addition to the list will then be forwarded to the list moderator who will in turn officially approve your subscription to slis-indy or slisstudent-l.
how to unsubscribe
1) Send an e-mail message to listserv@listserv.iupui.edu
2) Leave the subject line blank. In the body of your message type: unsubscribe slis-indy OR unsubscribe slisstudent-l
how to send an announcement
Send an email message to: slis-indy@listserv.iupui.edu OR slisstudent-l@listerv.iupui.edu. The list moderator must read and approve all messages prior to their posting, so there may be a delay of up to 24 hours before the message appears.
getting help
For any problem with subscribing, unsubscribing, or any other difficulties you have while using slis-indy, please ask any computer consultant in the UITS or University Library computer labs. Many questions may be resolved by contacting the online guide at: listserv.iupui.edu. You may also call the UITS Support Center at (317) 274-HELP.Registered students, faculty and staff on the IUPUI campus may acquire an email account at the UITS Support Center or at any UITS computer cluster. Ask the lab consultant on duty for assistance.
