What exercise facilities are close by my home?
Where can I get a flue shot?
Where can I find services for aids patients for my service learning project?
How can I find a support group for my mother who has been diagnosed with breast cancer?
Answers to these and many more local health services can be found in INHealthConnect. The services range from acupuncture to yoga. Other web links are to adult day care services, child day care services, food programs, group homes, home care equipment, massage therapists, smoking cessation, social services, weight management programs, and many more. INHealthConnect is one the web at http://medlineplus.gov/inhealthconnect. It is a database of local websites of health related services that can be searched by location, service, disease, or keyword.
To look for nearby exercise facilities, begin by clicking on Services by Location. Then click on the county on the state map. You will then be presented with a list of services to select from — such as exercise facilities, clinics, support groups, or advocacy services. The number to the right of the service indicates the number of links to that service in the selected county and nearby counties. Clicking on the service leads to a brief description and a link to the website for each of the listings.
Another approach is looking for the service and then specifying the location. To look for a place to get flu shots, click on services by Providers, Facilities and Services. From the alphabetic list of services, you would select immunization programs and then select the county. Click on any of the live links to get more information.

For the service learning project, begin with the disease (AIDS) by clicking on Services for Diseases and Health Issues. Click on AIDS. Select the locality (Marion County).
To find a support group for breast cancer, on the home page, click Services for Diseases and Health Issues. Select Breast Cancer as the topic and then the locality. The list of services for that condition in that locality appears. Support Groups is listed alphabetically. Click on this to get the listing of support groups.
